Who’s allergic to color? Not me…As my grandmothe used to say „It doesn’t cost more for ugly“.

Not so long ago, I was allergic to almost everything. I needed a creative outlet that was indoor friendly. Color and fabric became my vehicle, my way of using skills, problem solving & design while generally having fun (with a few choice words here and there, of course). After the first successful circle skirt, I thought why not make one out of a tablecloth? Its already round and I have so many gorgeous patterned tablecloths – a no brainer. So I did. I have never looked back. When a serger machine showed up, the tablecloth universe exploded! Many more gorgeous tablecloths to be had! Our history is full of soft linen tablecloths with bright or uplifting patterns, some so special or unique they are works of art unto themselves.

Even after a successful multi-organ transplant, I continue to love what I do – repurposing lost history and wearing gorgeous, comfortable skirts. „It’s not your grandmother’s skirt – it’s her tablecloth!“

Wearing a beautiful tablecloth skirt is an exciting and eco-friendly way to recycle forgotten beautiful materials. I first began making these ‘TableWears’ skirts for myself because, besides being very comfy, the expandable waist is forgiving and the selection of patterns endless! Compliments were so forthcoming I decided to make them for everyone. People are amazed when I say “its a tablecloth”. Some are very old or rare and others more contemporary and from all over the world. I am pleased to be repurposing an otherwise lost piece of history.

Welcome to my store ‚TableWears‘ – resourced Vintage tablecloths turned into one-of-a-kind ready to wear skirts. „It’s not your grandmother’s skirt – it’s her tablecloth!“ Each piece is handmade and constructed for everyday use (machine washable!). Elastic waistband garments generally come in sizes 0 -16. (Larger size can be available upon request.) I make the waist to your specifications – you tell me what size you want. Instructions are included at the bottom of each listing. All questions welcomed! Some vintage cloths will show signs of use even in great condition. (They are old after all…) I point out any extensive or largely visible marks/signs of wear. Your satisfaction is important and I want you to be happy with your purchase.
